This unique building was built in the early 1900's for the Free Church of Scotland and used as a church until the 1950s. It was subsequently used for a variety of purposes and had fallen into disrepair when we took it over in 2005. We have spent four years converting the old church into a beautiful and unique dwelling. The project was featured on Channel 5's 'Build A New Life In The Country' series. As part of the renovation we created a completely self-contained self catering apartment in what was the old vestry. The apartment is let as a self-catering B&B on a nightly basis, and is one of very few bed and breakfasts on the island. It is also available for rent on a weekly basis as a self-catering holiday apartment. The apartment is furnished unusually in art deco style to match the main house and features underfloor heating. There is one double bedroom plus a sofa bed in the living room which sleeps two more if required. There is a Freesat TV with CD/DVD player. We also offer our guests a free wi-fi connection, and we are in one of the very few spots on the island with mobile phone reception! We accept well-behaved dogs provided they are supervised at all times. (We have hens.) |
